--- title: "Week 07 Questions" format: html: code-fold: false code-tools: true code-copy: true highlight-style: github code-overflow: wrap --- a) **What is your current grade in the class? How many issues are open in our research repository?** I have an 87%. I tried updating my commits so that might change my grade? In the assistance-private its 23 and 2 were from me and 1 that i emailed that you posted. In the assistance-public its 14 and 2 were from me. In my research repo i have 4 issues open with you. In my coursework repo i have 2 issues open with you. b) **Re-reading this week's reading, what are 2 things that resonate with you now that made little practical sense in week 2. What is one aspect that you still wonder about or is unclear?** I think what made resonate is the data management and cleaning. I feel like at the beginning of class that was mentioned and i had a bit of understanding but after a couple of weeks after class. I have truly learned its about paying attention to details, cleaning, managing fasta files, etc. I have learned alot. I think overall, the Data Visualization. They talk about it in the paper but i wouldlike to learn more about how ti visualize each data and how that can be done for each data set. c) **What is epigenetics and how could it relate to your own research project?** In my own understanding, epigenetics is the study of how the environment can cause changes that can affect your genetics. This can be related to my research because I perform in laboratory experiments and then having environmental samples, is a good comparison to demonstrate the difference from a controlled environment to a non-controlled environment. d) **Describe what a GFF file is?** A GFF file is a simple tab-delimited text file that describes describing genomic features. GFF stands for General Feature Format and there are several other forms. e) **What are two ways describing CG motifs could have value?** CG also CpG motif are short sequences of DNA that contain a cytosine followed by a guanine nucleotide. They can have values for epigenetic regulation because of methylation of cytosine in the CG motifc are modifications from epigenetics. Another value is evolutionary analysis because CG motifs can tell us about evolution.
